Nancy is our Administrative Assistant and Library Materials Acquisitions person. She has worked at the Library for 16 years and has seen many technological advances for which she is very grateful, as she used to do the “bookkeeping” using a ledger book and a sharp pencil. One of the earlier methods used for ordering new library books was the “beta phone.” Computers, along with their special software programs and our automated card catalog system, have made her job more manageable. Libraries and the way they operate have come a long way!
Before joining the “Library’s Team,” Nancy was a lead person at Plum Creek Sawmill, Belgrade, where she did payroll, worker’s comp claims and maintained the mill’s work schedule. Many of the skills she learned at this job has benefited her in her current responsibilities at the Library. She is a safety committee member, our Insurance Rep for our MPEA members and has served several years as MPEA union rep. Nancy loves the many challenges of her position and is a Notary Public for the State of Montana.
