Bozeman Public Library is governed by the Board of Trustees. The Board sets library policies and oversees the general operation of library programs and services. The Board has established policies which govern such activities as access to library materials, censorship, rights and responsibilities of library users, and use of library owned facilities. Patrons are invited to Trustee meetings, which occur monthly on the third Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Library's Board Room on the second level. (See Governance Policies)
Library users will have a safe and comfortable environment where resources are easily accessible. Free access to library resources is provided to all residents of the community regardless of age, race, religion, disability, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or social or political views. Library policies are based on community needs and the Library's mission statement and established goals; they are not a reaction to specific problems that arise.
