The Library and Library Foundation have a new program partner - Wonderlust - for a monthly discussion series called Friday forums. Wonderlust is for people who want to continue learning throughout their lives with non-credit (no grades!) classes taught by knowledgeable experts, as well as Side Trips (one-time classes), book clubs, and monthly forums on topics of local interest. The Friday Forums are held the second Friday of the month, 12-1:30pm in the Community Room. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch and an open mind.
The first Friday Forum of 2014 on January 10 will feature Maddy Pope with The Trust for Public Land discussing the Story Mill Community Park proposal, located north of the Library along Bridger Drive and Story Mill Road. The Trust for Public Land is working with partners across the community to propose a new city park on the approximately 50-acre site that will include park and recreational amenities, trails, wetlands and river restoration, and protection of habitat for birds and wildlife.
The project will be applying for funding through the new Bozeman Parks and Trail Bond passed in November 2012. Maddy will be presenting the progress to date, as well as hearing from community members. For more information about Friday Forums, please contact Paula in the Foundation off ice at 582-2426.
