Journaling Prompt #1: New Year's Resolutions

We all see areas of our life that can use improvement, and while we are focusing on cultivating a new habit, perhaps we can ease up the pressure in other areas. What if, just for the time being, we lowered our standards and didn’t fold the laundry but just dumped the socks in the drawer, or we let the dishes go ‘til the next day, or lingered an extra half hour with a new book? With abundant kindness, write a letter to yourself. Congratulate yourself on new-found discipline in one area of your life and tell yourself why you will let a few things “go”. Remind yourself that it all feeds into truly caring for yourself in the big picture.
