The Work Bench and the Kitchen Table are creative labs that inspire curiosity, exploration, and connection.
The Work Bench
The Work Bench is designed to create a sense of community and provide access to a wide variety of equipment and tools.
Get Started
1. Patrons must receive a Work Bench card on equipment in order to reserve time on Work Bench equipment. To receive a Work Bench card, patrons must:
- Be 14 years or older; users between 8 and 13 may accompany a parent or guardian for an equipment reservation.
- Have an active Bozeman, Belgrade, Manhattan, Three Forks, or West Yellowstone library card.
- Sign a Work Bench Liability Waiver before before booking equipment.
- Complete training to earn a badge* (three options, select one):
- attend an intro class (must be 14 years or older), OR
- learn in the Library through the training binder, OR
- watch a training video:
- Pass quiz and complete a test project.
*3D Printer, Embroidery Machine, and Laser Cutter are the only Work Bench equipment that require training. Other equipment and spaces only require Work Bench card.
2. Reserve time to use equipment. Equipment is bookable for up to 2 hours each day.

Classes
- The Work Bench offers introductory equipment and basic design classes. Classes require registration and are limited in number of participants.
- If you cannot attend a class that you have registered for, please cancel your registration by managing your reservation online or calling the Creative Labs desk at (406)582-2422 so that someone on the waitlist may be added.
- If a class registrant does not show up for class without cancelling 2 times, they will be not be allowed to register for future classes for a three month period.
The Studio
The Studio is a sound dampened audio production studio, located within the Work Bench, that can be used for recording creative audio work. Using the Studio requires a Work Bench card.
The Kitchen Table
The Kitchen Table is a demonstration kitchen used to teach cooking and nutrition programs, explore cultural food traditions, and showcase local cuisines and food systems.
- The Kitchen Table is not a publicly reservable space. If you are interested in partnering with the Library to teach a cooking class or demonstration, please contact us.
