Movie Night: Everything is Illuminated

As a part of the Americans and the Holocaust traveling exhibit, Bozeman Public Library will be showing the 2005 film Everything Is Illuminated, based on the book of the same title by Jonathan Safran Foer. There will be a discussion following the film, so please come curious and ready to engage!

Everything is Illuminated (rated PG-13): A young Jewish-American man obsessed with his family history, Jonathan Safran Foer (Elijah Wood) decides to journey to the Ukraine to find out more about the life of his grandfather. Guided by Alex (Eugene Hutz), a rap-obsessed local, Jonathan ventures into the heartland of the Ukraine seeking to shed light on events that occurred to his grandfather during World War II. Joining Jonathan and Alex is the latter's surly grandfather (Boris Leskin) and a dog named Sammy Davis Jr. Jr.

Visit the traveling Americans and the Holocaust exhibit on the second floor of the library from May 22 through June 30.  Americans and the Holocaust: A Traveling Exhibition for Libraries is an educational initiative of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the American Library Association. Americans and the Holocaust was made possible by the generous support of lead sponsor Jeannie & Jonathan Lavine.
