Dr. Pete Schweppe, assistant professor of German Studies and History at Montana State University, and one of his students, Heather Sikoski, will deliver the closing program of the Americans and The Holocaust series of events. His lecture will focus on image politics and the art and propaganda of the Nazi movement. Heather Sikoski (MSU) and Peter Schweppe (MSU) will present their research on events that surrounded the Holocaust. Sikoski's talk, "Geospatial Estrangement and the Kielce Pogrom of 1946," focuses on the politics of historicization in the case of a pogrom that occurred after WWII's end. Schweppe's talk, "Image Politics: Art & Propaganda in Nazi Germany," addresses the graphic and visual history of persuasion during the Third Reich.
